INGREDIENTS
- 3 Cup Self-rising Flour
- 3/4 T. Cinnamon
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Butter, softened
- 1 Cup Buttermilk
- 1/2 Cup Raisins
- Egg Whites
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400.
In a large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon and sugar. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Add buttermilk and raisins, mixing until dough is soft. Turn dough out onto a flat floured surface and pat to 1/2" thickness. Cut scones with a round biscuit cutter and place on a greased baking sheet. Brush tops of scones with egg whites. Bake until lightly browned.
