ROSALYN CARTER'S SCONES

Ingredients

  • 3 Cup Self-rising Flour
  • 3/4 T. Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, softened
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1/2 Cup Raisins
  • Egg Whites

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon and sugar. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Add buttermilk and raisins, mixing until dough is soft. Turn dough out onto a flat floured surface and pat to 1/2" thickness. Cut scones with a round biscuit cutter and place on a greased baking sheet. Brush tops of scones with egg whites. Bake until lightly browned.
