RELISH WITH RED CABBAGE

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts red cabbage, cored & shredded
  • 3 whole red onions, sliced
  • 3 whole large bell peppers, chopped
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon celery seed
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/3 tablespoon turmeric

Directions

  • Combine red cabbage, onions and bell peppers in a large ceramic bowl. Bring vinegar to a boil, remove from heat, and stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over cabbage mixture. Cover and chill overnight.
