- 6 cups rice krispies
- 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 Tbls vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 Tbls butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp black walnut or almond extract
- Cook the syrup, sugar and salt to hard ball stage stirring only to keep from burning. Remove from heat and Add the vinegar, extracts and butter. Pour over the rice krispies and form into balls or press into a pan and cut into squares.
NotesThis is a 1924 recipe. Takes a little more time but the results are worth it.
