Romie's Apple Dump Cake
2 cups sugar (Reduced to 1 cup)
2 cups flour (1 cup whole wheat, 1 cup unbleached)
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (omitted)
1 can apple pie filling, chopped (sugar free)
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Dump first 8 ingredients into a large bowl and mix together. Add nuts. Fold in apple pie filling.
Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. (45 minutes was too long try 35-40)
When cake has cooled, combine icing ingredients and spoon over cake.

What a great and super easy cake recipe this is. I love that it is a scratch dump cake not one with a cake mix. It is moist and delicious and coffee cake like. The timing was off for me though so reduce the bake time, test it at 35-40 min.
