RUTH'S STRAWBERRY PARTY CAKE

Ruth's Strawberry Party Cake

This woman is like a grandmother to me. She's lived next door for ever. This is one of her recipes that is in the local church's recipe book, published back in 1979.

 


INGREDIENTS

  • Cake:
  • 1 box Pillsbury white cake mix
  • 1 (10 oz.) package frozen strawberries, cut in halves while still frozen (set aside 1/2 for icing)
  • 1 3 oz package strawberry jello
  • 1/2 cup wesson oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • Icing:
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • the other 1/2 of drained strawberries

DIRECTIONS

Mix the cake ingredients well, except for strawberries. Add eggs, on at a time, beat well. Fold in 1/2 of the berries (not drained). Bake in 9 inch Reynolds Parchment Paper lined pan for 30 minutes



Beat Icing ingredients until fluffy
