SALISBURY BURGER PATTIES WITH CARAMELIZED ONIONS

  • Preparation Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 talbespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups sliced onions (2 medium)
  • 4 gound beef patties (4 to 5 oz each)
  • 1 jar (12 oz) beef gravy

Directions

  • In a 12 inch skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat
  • Stir in brown sugar
  • Add onions
  • cook 12 to 16 minutes, stirring occasionally until onions turn golden brown
  • Place onions in medium bowl
  • cover to keep warm
  • In same skillet, cook beef patties over medium heat 6-8 minutes
  • Return onions to skillet
  • pour gravy over onions and patties
  • Cook 2 to 3 minutes longer stirring once or twice
  • use fresh parsley as garnish
