SALMON PATTIES
Salmon Patties
I grew up on this.Try as an alternative to the beef burger with this easy recipe
INGREDIENTS
- 1 can (15 or 16 oz) salmon, cleaned (set aside 2 Tbs. of the juice)
- 1 egg
- 1/3 Cup minced onion
- 1/4 Cup flour
- 1/4 Cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1-1/2 Cup Crisco

DIRECTIONS
Drain salmon and set aside 2 Tbs. of the juice. Mix salmon, egg and onion until sticky. Stir in flour & cornmeal. Add baking powder to salmon juice, stir into salmon mixture. Form into small patties and fry until golden brown, about 5 minutes on each side, in hot Crisco. Serve with tartar sauce.
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Servings: 6 to 8 patties

These sound really good and a little different than I make. I usually use crushed soda crackers instead of the flour, corn meal and B Powder. I just wonder how different they would be. We do love salmon patties and it is also healthy. Anna

SOunds good. Salmon patties is something I haven't been successful, and your recipe might be the help, I need.

I just use 100% whole wheat bread crumbs an 1 egg and 1 egg white, with minced onions to a can of samlon. I never thought of corn meal. I will have to try it. Thanks.
