Sausage Casserole

  • 1 lb. bulk sausage
  • 6 slices white bread, crust removed
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • softened margarine
  • 1 1/2 cup cheese
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • Optional: green onions, mushrooms, green pepper

DIRECTIONS

Cook sausage over medium heat until done, stirring to crumble, drain on paper towels and set aside. Spread bread with margarine, cut into cubes. Place bread cubes in 13x9x2 baking pan, sprinkle with sausage, top with cheese. Combine rest of ingredients in a bowl, beat well, pour over sausage. Chill 8 hrs. or overnight. Remove from refrigerator, bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes.
