Why I Love This Recipe
This recipe is from my Aunt and she often will make a pot of soup to go along with it. It makes quite a bit, so when it's for my husband and I, I will 1/2 the recipe or just freeze the other one
Ingredients You'll Need
2 loaves white bread (frozen), thaw well before beginning
1 lb. Italian sausage, browned
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 lb. thinly sliced pepperoni
1 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 egg (for glaze)
Roll each bread dough to 6*18" rectangle. Mix together sausage, egg, spices and cheese. Spread on top of dough. Top with pepperoni slices. Roll up the long way, then for a ring.
Place ring on greased cookie sheet, or baking stone works great! Cut slits in ring every 1 inch around. Brush top of each ring with beaten egg, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Bake at 350* for 30 minutes.
NOTE - Freezes well wrapped in foil. Makes 2 rings
