Sauted Red Cabbage
1 head red cabbage, coarsely shredded
2 medium apples, peeled and sliced thin
1 large lemon, juiced
4 Tbsp margarine (or bacon grease)
1½ Tbsp cider vinegar
Salt and pepper
3 Tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp ground cloves
1 Melt margarine in large skillet.
2 Add cabbage; cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 minutes, stirring frequently.
3 Add sliced apples and remaining ingredients; cook uncovered until crisp tender (7 to 8 minutes).
4 Drain and serve.
