Sauted Red Cabbage

Ingredients

1 head red cabbage, coarsely shredded
2 medium apples, peeled and sliced thin
1 large lemon, juiced
4 tablespoons margarine (or bacon grease)
1½ tablespoons cider vinegar
Salt and pepper
3 tablespoons brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground cloves


Melt margarine (or bacon grease) in a large skillet; add cabbage, cover, and cook on low for 5 to 6


minutes, stirring frequently. Add sliced apples and remaining ingredients; cook uncovered until crisp


tender (7 to 8 minutes). Drain and serve.
