SCALLOPED POTATOES

Ingredients

  • potatoes, quartered and sliced evenly. (not thick slices)
  • Slice Medium or sharp cheddar cheese
  • Milk, 1%, 2% or whole. (Skim doesn't work well)

Directions

  • I cannot give exact amount of anything because it depends on the size of your casserole dish and how many you are serving.....
  • Peel several potatoes and then quarter them then slice them evenly. (not thick slices)
  • Slice Medium or sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1% or 2% Milk or even whole if you wish. Skim doesn't work well.
  • In a casserole dish, place a layer of potatoes, then layer of cheese, salt and pepper, then layer potatoes, cheese, S&P unitl you end up with cheese on top. Add enough milk for casserole dish to be 3/4 full. Salt and pepper the top layer and place in 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours. Milk will bubble and top will brown...set for about 5 minutes before serving.....
