The chicken being marinated beforehand gives these lots of flavor and perfect for a potluck, as you don't need any dipping sauce.

They are great reheated in the toaster oven, it keeps them crispy and almost like fresh!


  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1” pieces
  • 1/4 c flour
  • 1/2 c cornstarch
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/4 c soy sauce
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 T roasted garlic
  • 2 t sesame oil
  • 1 t grated ginger
  • 1 bag panko
  • ¼ c white sesame seeds
  • canola oil for frying


  • put all ingredients but panko and sesame seeds into ziplock bag
  • squash everything around really well so chicken pieces are completely covered and put bag in fridge overnight
  • mix panko and sesame seeds together in large ziplock bag
  • drop pieces of chicken into bag and make sure they are completely covered with panko mixture
  • heat oil to 350 degrees and fry chicken in batches
