Why I Love This Recipe

This is an easy one-pot meal. Try adding more or less spices to mixture, including Worcester Sauce. This is the less spicy recipe, but still hits the spot! Use different cheeses to get that brown, bubbly crust.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 sweet onion chopped
1 can of sweet peas
2 tablespoons of tomato purée
2 tablespoons of flour
2 tablespoons of Worcester Sauce
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
1 can of cream style corn
2 cups of prepared mashed potatoes
1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, Gouda, or to your taste)


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Brown ground beef and onions in hot pan.

Drain fat from pan.

Add peas and tomato purée and mix well.

Add flour to mixture and cook for 2 minutes.

Add the Worcester Sauce and spices to the mixture and stir until combined.

Remove meat mixture from stovetop and spoon into a 2 quart Dutch oven or other ovenproof pan that allows room for layering of pie.

Spread meat mixture on bottom. Layer cream corn next. Then, add prepared mashed potatoes as the final layer. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake in oven, uncovered, for 45-50 minutes or until brown and bubbling.
