Simple Balsamic Vinaigrette

Why I Love This Recipe

The sugar is optional in this dressing and I determine whether I want it based on what I am using the vinaigrette for and what my balsamic vinegar tastes like. Cover and refrigerate for a week to use on salads and as a marinade for chicken and beef.


Ingredients You'll Need

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup olive oil
Pinch of dried basil
Pinch of dried oregano


Directions

Whisk the vinegar in a bowl with the sugar, garlic, salt and pepper until sugar and salt dissolve. Then whisk in the oil by droplets, whisking constantly. Or place all of the ingredients in a mason jar and shake with the lid on to combine. Taste and adjust the seasonings.
