1 frying chicken, cut up
2 Tbsp. oil or melted shortening
1 envelope au jus gravy mix
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. onion salt
Remove skin from chicken.
Brown chicken in oil in large skillet; pour off excess fat.
To skillet add contents of gravy mix envelope, orange juice, water, allspice and onion salt. Stir until well blended.
Cover, cook 40 to 50 mins. until tender. Sprinkle with parsley.
Makes 6 servings.
About 210 calories each.
Pairs Well With
I usually use chicken cutlets in this one but I'll add this as written. If using cutlets, reduce the cooking time. Also keep an eye on the liquids so it doesn't dry out.
