SOFT AND “PUFFY“ SUGAR COOKIES

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tbls cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Directions

  • Cream sugars, butter, eggs, and almond extract. Add milk and dry ingredients, mix well. Chill at least 2 hours, overnight is best. Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
  • Bake at 350° F. for 8-10 minutes.
  • Cool and frost.
  • Makes about 4 dozen
  • Try lemon instead of the almond extract, for a different taste.
