Soft And “Puffy“ Sugar Cookies

Serves 48 | Prep Time | Cook Time 10

Ingredients

1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tsp almond extract
3/4 cup milk
3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tbls cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda


Cream sugars, butter, eggs, and almond extract. Add milk and dry ingredients, mix well. Chill at least 2 hours, overnight is best. Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut into desired shapes.


Bake at 350° F. for 8-10 minutes.


Cool and frost.


Makes about 4 dozen


Try lemon instead of the almond extract, for a different taste.
