Why I Love This Recipe

I learned this trick from my roommate Wyatt! It is hands down the best method to achieve a perfect soft-boiled egg, AKA a hard-boiled egg with a golden liquid inside.


Ingredients You'll Need

1 egg
3 cups + 1 cup water
several ice cubes
ground garlic salt and pepper (optional)


Directions

Bring the 3 cups of water to a boil on the stove top. Place the egg into the water carefully, making sure it is fully submerged (add more water if not). Set the timer for 7 1/2 minutes, and while egg is boiling prepare a bowl of ice cold water with the ice cubes. Once the timer is up, immediately transfer the egg to the cold water bowl in order for the yolk to stop cooking. Wait a few minutes for a the egg to cool, then enjoy!


This recipe can be easily adjusted with the number of eggs, just make sure that there is enough boiling water to completely cover the eggs.
