SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE

Ingredients

  • Batter:
  • 1/2 C butter
  • 1 C sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 C sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 C flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Topping/Filling:
  • 1/2 C brown sugar
  • 3/4 C walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine butter, sugar, eggs and sour cream.
  • Mix well.
  • Add remaining batter ingredients.
  • Mix well.
  • In a separate small bowl, mix all topping/filling ingredients.
  • Pour 1/2 of batter into greased tube pan and sprinkle with 1/2 topping.
  • Add remaining batter and sprinkle with remaining topping.
  • Bake 40 - 45 minutes at 350°F

Notes

My mom has been making this coffee cake for as long as I can remember.
