Sour Cream Noodles
1 pkg. (8 oz.) medium noodles
2 tbsp. shortening (optional)
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce
1 cup sour cream
1 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup chopped onion
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
Cook noodles according to the directions on the package.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet (in shortening if needed). Add salt, garlic salt, pepper and tomato sauce. Cook for 5 minutes.
Combine the cottage cheese, sour cream and chopped onion then add to the noodles. Make layers by alternating the noodle mixture with the meat mixture in a baking dish. Cover the top with cheddar cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. The cheddar cheese should be completely melted.
