SOURDOUGH PECAN WAFFLES

Ingredients

  • 2 C sourdough starter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 C cooking oil
  • 1/2 C milk
  • 1/2 C flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t baking soda
  • 1 t grated orange peel
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 C chopped pecans (or other nuts)

Directions

  • In a large mixing bowl, mix starter, oil, and milk and beat well. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and sugar. Add orange peel and dry ingredients all at once to starter mixture. Beat just until blended. Spread batter on lightly greased, preheated waffle iron. Sprinkle with 1/3 C nuts, cook for 5-6 minutes.
