- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 sifted flour
- 1 t. baking powder
- 1 t. salt
- 2 t. vanilla
- 3/4 c. pecans
- praline frosting
- Melt shortening in sauce pan. Add remaining
- ingredients except frosting and mix well. Spread in greased 13x9 inch pan.
- Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool slightly, then spread with frosting. When cool, cut into bars.
- Praline frosting: Melt in pan, 2 T. butter, 1/4 c. brown sugar and 2 T. milk or cream. Stir in 1 c. sifted powder sugar, enough to make a frosting of spreading consistency and beat until smooth.
