Standish House Cranberry Relish

From 1996 Taste of Home Annual Recipes. I make it with my favorite apple cider and usually omit the pecans.

INGREDIENTS

  • Servings: 3 cups.
  • 3/4 c. orange OR apple juice
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • Dash ground cloves
  • 1 12 oz. package cranberries, fresh OR frozen
  • 1/2 c. golden raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS

In a saucepan combine juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved. Add cranberries and raisins; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 3-4 minutes or until cranberries pop. Remove from heat; stir in nuts. Chill for several hours.
