  • 350 gms pork tenderlion
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup kecap manis
  • 7 cm stick of cinnamon
  • 3 star anise
  • 1can baby corn
  • handful Sugar snap peas


  • Cut pork into 1/4 inche slices stir fry pork in oil. Put pork into a saucepan with the cinnamon and whole star anise and water,brown sugar and kecap manis. Bring to boil and simmer with lid on for 15 minutes.
  • Remove lid and simmer for another 15 minutes until sauce is thick, stirring often. Steam the vegetables for 2 to 3 minutes until crisp tender. Stir pork and vegetables together and serve with rice.


This recipe is adapted from the Good Taste magazine. Kecap manis is Indonesion Soy sauce.

This is such an unusual flavour I just loved it.
