Stovetop Pears with Cinnamon Basil
2 pears, cut in half longways and cored
1/4 cup each: butter, white cooking wine and brown sugar
1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
1/8 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp butter (for frying)
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the wine and brown sugar. Simmer for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and add the cinnamon & basil, stirring for a few seconds. Set aside.
In a skillet, over medium heat, fry the pears for about 4 minutes on each side, basting with the basil marinade. Pour remaining marinade over pears. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
