Strawberry Stuffed French Toast
Loaf of challah bread or brioch not sliced
1/2 cup strawberry jelly, jam or preserves
1 cup sour cream or creme frèche
A bushel of strawberries
Slice bread about 3 inches thick. Cut a pocket into the bread, make sure not to go all the way through to bottom or sides. You want to have an opening at the top only.
Mix strawberry jelly and sour cream or creme frèche together.
Slice the strawberries.
Fill bread pocket with strawberry cream mixture, and stuff spas many sliced strawberries in as you can.
Egg wash. Mix eggs with a splash of milk or creme.
Coat each stuff pocket in egg wash on both sides.
Two ways: Place in large baking pan add a few pats of butter on top bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
Large skillet on medium flame melt a few pats of butter and cook till sizzling and golden brown and flip till golden brown on other side.
Baking is less messy :). Both ways are equally delicious!
Garnish with sliced strawberries and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

I love this recipe. I saw a similar dish at a restaurant and thought hmmmm I can make this. The first time I made it was with Challah bread. Then tried it with brioche. So yummy!
