- Cooking Time:

- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ c. shortening
- 1 ½ c. buttermilk(regular milk with 1 ½ tbs vinegar added to it)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 3 ½-4 c. flour
- Make buttermilk by adding 1 ½ tbs vinegar added to it, let sit for 3 minutes.
- Combine all ingredients.
- Drop onto cookie sheet, sprinkle with sprinkles. Bake at 450* until lightly brown on the edges.
NotesThis recipe was made by my Grandmother's best friend every year for when we all got together at the beach for a week. She has since passed away, and I now continue to make them every year, and also make them at Christmas. They bring back happy memories every time that we bake them.
