Surprise Strawberry Jello Salad
2 cups pretzels (crushed, but not too fine)
3/4 cup melted margarine or butter
3 T sugar
8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 medium size container Cool Whip
1 large pkg strawberry jello
2 cups boiling water
2-10 oz pkg frozen strawberries
Mix together the first three ingredients and put in a 9x13 pan. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes. Cool.
Cream together the cream cheese and cup of sugar. Add the Cool Whip and blend. Spread over the cooled pretzel crust and chill.
Blend together the jello, boiling water, and strawberries, cool until syrupy. Pour over the chilled pretzel crust and cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate.

This is one of my favorites - the surprise is the pretzel crust!
