  • 10 c. Japanese rice, with sushi seasoning
  • 10 eggs
  • 2 cans tuna
  • 1/2 pound cooked shrimp
  • 1 pound raw tuna steak
  • 1 pound cooked crab legs
  • 3 cucumbers
  • 1 head leaf lettuce
  • 3 avacadoes
  • 8 oz. smoked salmon
  • sesame seeds
  • 1 oz. package cream cheese
  • pickled ginger
  • carrot
  • soy sauce - Kikkomon
  • wasabi
  • mayonaise
  • nori


  • Pass out the bamboo rollers and have two stations of ingrediants for everyone to roll their own sushi. We have an official cutter, Toshi, who gets to eat the "ugly" ends. Have bowls of water to seal the nori closed.


When we moved to Iowa, we eventually started to have a yearly or bi-annual sushi party with our neighbors, the Larsons. We had a master list and would both find ingrediants. A favorite quote from one party came from Tom Larson, "There is a fine line between temptation and inspiration." I think this involved a wasabi bomb.
