Ingredients

2 cup short grain white rice
Cold water
2 tsp. Salt
¼ c. Sugar
½ cup with rice vinegar
Carrots
Avocado
Cucumber
Mango
Shrimps
Salmon
Crab
Seaweeds
Mayonnaise
Hot sauce

First step to cook sushi rice is to rinse it under cold water with the help of a mesh strainer. Once the rice is rinsed, put it into a pot and fill the pot with cold water until the water is one inch above the rice and let it rest for 30 minutes.

The next step is to rinse the rice again under cold water with the help the mesh strainer.

Step four is put the rice into the pot again; add two and a quarter of water into the pot and turn the temperature to high heat. When the water will start to boil, turn the temperature down the lowest and let it cook for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes look if there are still any water left in the rice; if there is leave it under low heat until there is not more water; if no, let the rice sit for 15 minutes with the lid on.

While the rice is cooking, in a different pot mix the vinegar, salt and sugar on medium heat until the salt and sugar are dissolved.

The next step is to transfer the rice into a plastic bowl so it cools down faster. It is important to not scrape the rice at the bottom of the pot to avoid mixing the rice with the burned rice.

While the rice is cooking, in a different pot mix the vinegar, salt and sugar on medium heat until the salt and sugar are dissolved.

Once the vinegar is ready, cut the carrtos, cucumber, mango, and avocado into slices.

To add more flavor to the sushi you can make a hot sauce with mayonnaise and hot sauce.

When the rice is finally cooled down, mix the vinegar with the rice. Now all you have to do left is to start rolling!

To roll sushi, place a sheet of seaweed on a bamboo mat. Spread rice on the seaweed sheet. Now customize the sushi like you want, roll them and enjoy.

Notes

In a Managing Teams University course, our team had to come up with a dinner that we would make and present to the class. The purpose of this project was to help us bounding as a team outside of the classroom in a different atmosphere. This experience was definitely a success as we all had a great time together preparing and eating the sushi.

On behalf of our team I hope you will enjoy as much making and eating our sushi as we did. Bonne appétit!
