  • 2 C. sugar
  • 2 C. flour
  • 2 t. soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 2 T. vegetable oil
  • 1 C. chopped pecans
  • 1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple (do not drain)
  • 1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 4 T. butter
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 1 t. vanilla


  • Mix sugar, flour, soda, eggs, salt, vanilla, oil, pecans and pineapple.
  • Bake at 350 degrees in a 9 x 13 pan for 40 minutes or until cake springs back (or you determine cake is done.)
  • Last 10 minutes of baking time melt cream cheese and butter.
  • Add brown sugar and vanilla.
  • Mix well with spoon and pour over cake while cake is hot. Allow frosted cake to cool and serve to an appreciative audience.


This recipe was passed to me by a dear friend. The cake is old fashioned in that it is moist and heavenly. My friend is gone but I think of her every time I make this cake. Enjoy
