  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1T onion flakes
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 lb. ground chuck or round
  • 1/2 t. black pepper
  • 1/8 t. ginger
  • 1/4 t. nutmeg
  • 1/4 t garlic powder
  • 8 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 2T butter or margarine
  • 1-2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • Extra milk
  • Kitchen Bouquet or Gravy Master


  • Soak the bread crumbs and onion flakes in the milk. Meanwhile, mix the meat with the spices, then add the bread crumb mixture and stir lightly. Last stir in the cream cheese. Form into 1-1/2" meatballs and place in skillet with the butter. Brown on both sides, keep warm in another dish and pour the Cr. of mushroom soup in the pan you browned the meatballs in. Add enough milk to make a nice gravy and add the Gravy Master or Kitchen Bouquet to make the gravy a nice brown color, you can also add spices.
  • Serve meatballs on top of white rice smothered in the gravy
