Sweet Potato Casserole

Ingredients

4 large sweet potatoes
1 cup light brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 stick butter
½ tsp nutmeg
1 tsp salt
½ cup milk


1 Peel and quarter potatoes; cook until well done then drain.


2 Add all remaining ingredients then mash together.


3 Pour into lightly buttered casserole dish.


4 Preheat oven to 400° F.


5 In a saucepan, combine the first four of the following ingredients for the topping:


1 stick butter


1 cup sugar


4 Tbsp milk


½ tsp salt


2 tsp vanilla


1 cup pecan pieces


6 Cook on low heat until thickened, cool.


7 Add vanilla to mixture and pour over top of casserole.


8 Sprinkle top with pecans; bake for 45 minutes
