Sweet and Tangy Barbeque Sauce

Condiment, Sauce  Savory Sauce 

• 4 Tbsp olive oil
• 2 medium onions, chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, chopped
• 1 ½ cups ketchup
• ½ cup worcestershire sauce
• ½ cup soy sauce
• ½ cup beer
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 4 Tbsp maple syrup
• 4 Tbsp cider vinegar
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 Tbsp red chili power
• ½ tsp cayenne pepper
• ½ tsp tabasco sauce
• ¼ tsp dry mustard

I was given this recipe over in the cooking community on LiveJournal. Don't be intimidated by the long list of ingredients... most of these can be found in a well-stocked kitchen. This recipe is simple to put together and so delicious that you'll never go back to store-bought sauces again. Recipe yields 1 quart of sauce.
