TOFFEE APPLES

Ingredients

3 apples
3 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. starch
1 egg white
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
1 Tbsp. sesame seed
1 Tbsp. oil
oil for deep frying


Peel apples; remove cores. Cut apples into 6 pieces;


sprinkle some flour on the apples. Mix 3 tablespoons flour, 1


tablespoon starch, 1 egg white and water to a thick liquid


paste. Put apple in mixture and mix well. Remove apples.


Heat oil for deep frying. Drop in apples and fry until apples


turn golden brown. Drain the oil for later use. Boil 2/3 cup


sugar with 1/3 cup water, stirring continuously until it


becomes sticky. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and continue stirring


until the mixture thins and a small amount dropped from tip of


spoon spins a long thread and then becomes golden brown. Put


the fried apples in it and mix well. Sprinkle with sesame


seed. Before serving, cool the sugar slightly. Oil the plate


before pouring the food on the plate to avoid stickiness. When


serving, dip the apples in cold water. The sugar will harden.
