TOMATOES WITH SWEET BASIL

Ingredients

4 large ripe tomatoes
1 Tbsp. sweet basil or
several leaves fresh
basil (10 to 12)
1/4 tsp. garlic powder (do not
use garlic salt)
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. sugar


Cut each tomato into approximately 8 chunks. Add dried sweet basil or chopped fresh leaves. Add garlic powder, salt, pepper and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar; stir to mix.


Serve as a refreshing summertime substitute for traditional salads.


Omit salt and sugar to make this an excellent diet dish.
