TROPICAL MANGO BAR

Ingredients

Crust:
2 Sticks (1 Cup) of Butter
2 Cups of Flour
1/2 Cup Sugar

Cut dough to pea size and pat into 9x13 inch pan.

Filling:
4 Cups Chopped Mango
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/3 Cup Water

Cook until soft.
Add 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch diluted with a little water and cook until clear.
Cool slightly and pour filling over crust.

Topping:
2 Cups Oatmeal
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Flour
1 Stick of Butter (1/2 Cup)


Cut dough into pea size and sprinkle over filling.


Bake at 350 for about 50 minutes.



VARIATIONS:


When mangoes are not available, apples may be used.



2 Cans Pie Sliced Apples, drained


1/2 Cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed


1 Cup Sugar


4 Tablespoons Flour


1/2 tsp. Salt


1 teaspoon Cinnamon


1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg


1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice


4 Tablespoon Butter



Mix above ingredients in big bowl and spread evenly over the crust and bake for 50 minutes.
