TX Chocolate Sheet cake with Peanut Butter
1/2 c cocoa powder
1 c water
2 sticks margarine/butter
2 c sugar
2 c flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c buttermilk
In a small saucepan add cocoa powder, water and margarine or butter. Bring to a boil.
Turn off heat and stir until melted/blended.
In a big bowl combine sugar, flour and salt; mix well.
Pour cocoa mixture gently over dry ingredients. Stir.
In a small bowl combine eggs, soda, vanilla and buttermilk; add to big bowl and mix all until well incorporated.
Pour into a prepared 9 X 13.
Bake at 400 for 30 minutes, checking for doneness at 20 minutes.
Cool cake for 10 minutes and then take 1 1/2 c peanut butter and place in a microwave safe bowl and heat until it becomes a drizzling consistency. After this step is complete, begin making Chocolate Frosting.
Frost cake and allow to cool completely. If cake looks marbled that is fine.
