- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Melt butter. Add sugar, then eggs. Add dry ingredients, vanilla, and nuts.
- Spread in a greased 10x15 cookie sheet (with sides).
- Bake 20 minutes. Sift powdered sugar over them and cut while warm.
NotesThis is a staple with our family. We always had the ingredients on hand. They are very simple, and we love them! Except when my sister made them. We believe she misread the 1/2 TSP salt and used 1/2 CUP salt. Wow. I strongly advise against that variation!!!
