TEXAS CAKE

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons Cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions

  • Mix sugar,flour,cocoa and baking soda and set aside
  • Bring water and 1 cup of butter to a boil, and then add to the dry mixture
  • Add in vanilla, eggs and buttermilk
  • Pour into a greased and floured jelly roll pan
  • Bake at 400° F for 20 minutes
  • Frosting
  • Mix powdered sugar and cocoa and set aside
  • mix vanilla, softened butter and milk
  • Add cocoa mixture slowly to butter mix
  • Let cake cool for before frosting....and enjoy
