Why I Love This Recipe

This is my Great-Grandma's recipe, and it is Delicious!

Ingredients You'll Need

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
3 tablespoons Cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter
1 cup water
1teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk

Frosting
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup softened butter
1 tablespoon milk
3 tablespoons cocoa
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar


Directions

Mix sugar,flour,cocoa and baking soda and set aside


Bring water and 1 cup of butter to a boil, and then add to the dry mixture


Add in vanilla, eggs and buttermilk


Pour into a greased and floured jelly roll pan


Bake at 400° F for 20 minutes


Frosting


Mix powdered sugar and cocoa and set aside


mix vanilla, softened butter and milk


Add cocoa mixture slowly to butter mix


Let cake cool for before frosting....and enjoy
