Why I Love This Recipe


Ingredients You'll Need

2 c sugar
2 c flour
1 stick butter
1/2 c Crisco
4 T. cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten slightly
1 t. soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. vanilla

Icing:
1 stick butter
4 T. cocoa
6 T. milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans


Directions

Cake:


Sift together in large bowl, sugar and flour. Put in saucepan, butter, Crisco, cocoa and water. Bring mixture to a boil and pour over flour and sugar mixture and stir well. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda, cinnamon and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, watching carefully.


Icing:


Melt together and bring to boil, butter, cocoa and milk. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla and pecans. Spread over hot cake.
