Why I Love This Recipe

A co-worker made this one day and it was sooooo good. I had to get the recipe and share it with all.

Ingredients You'll Need

2 sticks butter
1 cup water
4 Tbl cocoa (She recommends DROSTE in red box Cocoa (holland))
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp (or less) salt
2 eggs beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1 T vinegar
1 tsp baking soda
For Icing:
1 stick butter
4 Tbl cocoa
6 Tbl milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c chopped walnuts

Directions

In a sauce pan, bring butter, water, and cocoa to a boil, set aside

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt.

In a small bowl, beat eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, vinegar, and soda.

Add all three together and beat. Pour into a sheet cake pan.

Bake @ 400 degrees for 20 min.

For the Icing: bring butter, cocoa and milk to a rolling boil, then add 1 box (less) powdered sugar, vanilla, and chopped walnuts.

Ice cake while still warm.

I'm from Texas and my mom is famous for this recipe. She prepares this at nearly all of our family get togethers. It should be called The "BEST" Texas Sheet Cake...
