Yep, believe it or not, there IS a better way to make grilled cheese (or as we call them in NH, "toasted cheese") sandwich. I don't remember where I learned this, but here it is:

Yep, believe it or not, there IS a better way to make grilled cheese (or as we call them in NH, "toasted cheese")sandwich. I don't remember where I learned this, but here it is:
Instead of buttering the outside of the sandwich before toasting/grilling, use a thin, even layer of MAYONNAISE. I know it sounds weird, but even if you don't like mayonnaise as a condiment, you're sure to appreciate the nice, golden, slightly crunchy exterior it creates. Try it sometime; I bet you'll like it!

What a great idea, I've used mayo for griling, baking etc and don't know why I never thought of this. How about a smear of pesto inside YUm!!! Karen1
