This is the first recipe I've posted prior to making the recipe and knowing it is a good one. However, this recipe is one I plan to try this holiday season. I found it in an old community cookbook and it has to be good because the lady who provided the recipe was an excellent cook.


  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 C. butter
  • 2 T. water
  • 1 T. white syrup
  • pinch of salt


  • Cook above ingredients to hard crack stage, stirring all the time.
  • Pour over slivered almonds onto buttered pan.
  • Cut into squares while warm, then pour melted milk chocolate bar over all.
