Trash Cake

One of our Perpetual Kid staffers is a wife and mother who is often looking for quick and easy recipes to cut down on time but not taste. This cake is quick and easy but the final result is AWESOME!

INGREDIENTS

  • Cooking Time: 30-35
  • Servings: 8-12
  • Preparation Time: 10
  • 1 Box of Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 Large Can of Cherry Pie Filling
  • 1 Large Can of Pineapple Chunks w/ juice
  • 1 1/2 Sticks of Butter

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees


Separate Pineapple and juice and place juice aside for the moment


Mix Pineapple and Cherries on the cake pan (preferably glass)


Sprinkle entire box of cake mix on top of the pineapples and cherries (make sure to crush the lumps that form from the cake mix)


Melt 1 1/2 butter


Mix butter with Pineapple juice and pour over the mixture in cake pan


Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown


*Add walnuts on top and bake for an additional 3 minutes if desired


*Best served with Vanilla Ice Cream
