  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 can (14 1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped cored Granny Smith apples
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons thinly sliced pimiento-stuffed olives
  • Hot cooked yellow rice or white rice (optional)
  • Toasted almonds (optional)


  • Cook and stir turkey, onion, green pepper and garlic in large skillet over medium-high heat until turkey is no longer pink. Stir in sugar, cinnamon, cumin, cloves, tomatoes, apples, raisins and olives. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low. Cover ans simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Serve over rice and garnish with toasted almonds.
