Turkey Picadillo

Serves 4 | Prep Time | Cook Time

Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 can (14 1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes
1 cup chopped cored Granny Smith apples
1/4 cup raisins
2 tablespoons thinly sliced pimiento-stuffed olives
Hot cooked yellow rice or white rice (optional)
Toasted almonds (optional)


Cook and stir turkey, onion, green pepper and garlic in large skillet over medium-high heat until turkey is no longer pink. Stir in sugar, cinnamon, cumin, cloves, tomatoes, apples, raisins and olives. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low. Cover ans simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Serve over rice and garnish with toasted almonds.
