Turkey Style Crab Cakes

I can't eat crab (allergies) so I decided to use ground turkey instead. I have no idea how they compare to the crab version but these were great!!!

INGREDIENTS

  • Servings: 4
  • Preparation Time: 10
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 3 tablespoons plain yogurt (or mayonnaise)
  • 2 chopped green onions
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh italian parsley
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Dales Seasoning (or worcestershire sauce)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp creole seasoning
  • 1 cup fine bread crumbs (if the meat of very moist, more bread crumbs may be needed)
  • Vegetable Oil

DIRECTIONS

Combine all ingredients except for the oil


Heat enough oil to cover bottom of pan over medium heat


Shape meat mixture into 8 cakes


Brown the cakes until golden brown and cooked through


Serve with your favorite dipping sauce. I serve mine with dill dip.

Can you eat tuna? I sometimes make tuna cakes, just replacing the crab with tuna, it is quite good that way also. I would never have thought of the turkey, thanks for the idea.
