WHITE CHOCOLATE BARK WITH PRETZELS & NUTS

Ingredients

  • 12 OZ. PACKAGE NESTLE WHITE CHOCOLATE CHIPS
  • 3 CUPS THIN SALTED PRETZEL STICKS
  • 2 CUPS DRY ROASTED SALTED PEANUTS
  • 1/2 CUP (MORE OR LESS) DRIED CRANBERRIES ("CRAISINS")

Directions

  • IN A LARGE BOWL, BREAK UP THE PRETZELS INTO SMALLER PIECES, BUT DO NOT CRUSH. ADD THE NUTS AND CRAISINS AND TOSS LIGHTLY TO COMBINE.
  • IN A MICROWAVE-SAFE BOWL, PLACE THE CHIPS AND MICROWAVE ON HALF-POWER TILL ALMOST MELTED, STIRRING EVERY 30 SECONDS OR SO TO COMPLETE MELTING.
  • POUR MELTED WHITE CHOCOLATE OVER THE PRETZEL/NUT/CRAISIN MIXTURE, TOSSING WITH A RUBBER SPATULA UNTIL ALL INGREDIENTS ARE WELL COATED.
  • TURN MIXTURE OUT ONTO A COOKIE SHEET THAT HAS BEEN LINED WITH PARCHMENT OR WAXED PAPER, SPREADING OUT EVENLY. ALLOW TO COOL FOR SEVERAL HOURS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE, THEN BREAK INTO IRREGULAR PIECES.
  • MAY BE STORED IN A PLASTIC CONTAINER, OR IN DECORATIVE TINS LINED WITH TISSUE PAPER FOR GIFT-GIVING.

Notes

This is an adaptation of a recipe presented by Paula Deen. I added the Craisins for color and texture, and opted for white cocolate chips because of their availability. If you like sweet & savory combined, this is the treat for you!
