White Texas Brownies

Ingredients

1 cup margarine
1 cup water
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
dash of salt
1/2 cup margarine
1/4 cup milk
Remove from heat and add:
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup chopped nuts, your choice


Bring to a boil the 1 cup margarine and 1 cup water


Remove from heat and stir the following in until smooth:


2 cups all purpose flour


2 cups sugar


2 eggs, beaten


1/2 cup sour cream


1 teaspoon almond extract


1 teaspoon baking soda


dash of salt


Pour into a greased 11 x 17 inch pan and bake 375 degrees for 20 mins.


Prepare frosting while bars are baking and pour over the cooked bars while hot:


Bring to a boil:


1/2 cup margarine


1/4 cup milk


Remove from heat and add:


4 1/2 cups powdered sugar


1 teaspoon almond extract


1 cup chopped nuts, your choice

My family has always loved the chocolate version but I have to tell you that these are just as yummy!!
